Kunal Sharma is the Head of Data Engineering and Analytics at Archrock, and he has over 15 years of experience in research and development, data engineering, data science, AI, and machine learning. He is driven by his passion for designing and building innovative products using emerging technologies. In his current role, he leads organizational efforts in the data and AI space to deliver impactful automation and digital experiences that bring tangible value to businesses.

Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

My background in engineering and research and development, coupled with my passion for exploring emerging technologies has led me to my current role.
 

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

One of my leadership principles is to encourage constant learning and to ensure I am helping to mentor and grow the next generation of data professionals.
 

With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CDAO going in the next 1-2 years?

I see myself adapting to swift changes and running pilot programs to adopt new technologies to understand their value and upskill the workforce.
 

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CDAO?

It is essential to remain lifelong learners and have the bravery to adapt to the ever-changing circumstances.
