Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
I studied Chemistry at Oxford University. While there, I joined the student radio society, and was part of the team that launched the UK’s first fully licensed student radio station.
I started working for Virgin Radio in my university holidays, and then went on to join them full-time in 1997. I stayed for 10 years, and was there during the fun days of the Chris Evans and Ginger Media Group era. I was Director of Technology, responsible for broadcast, IT, and what was, at that time, the world’s largest online radio station.
