Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
I have over twenty-five years of technology experience, wherein I have successfully orchestrated and deployed strategic IT initiatives across complex organisations. Throughout my career, both as a consultant and later in corporate roles, I have worked in many locations (Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Asia) at the intersections between IT megatrends, digital innovation, and industry-specific business issues.
What is one of your guiding leadership principles?
Never miss customer orientation while listening and empowering the team to succeed.
With disruption being a key theme of the past year, where do you see your role as a CIO going in the next 1-2 years?
Tech is everywhere and is increasingly part of the fabric of any organisation. A CIO must have the ability to orchestrate all those tech components (inside and outside IT) to realise a business strategy.
What advice would you give to someone just starting in the role as a CIO?
Do not miss the big picture. Position technology as a business differentiator.
