Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I have more than 20 years of experience in the retail and consumer goods industries, undertaking strategic IT cross-domain initiatives within international organisations.

I started my career in semiconductor microelectronics, moving soon to Accenture where I found my way in the Information Technology sector. There, I held several roles in the business-system integration space for grocery, fast fashion, child and mother care, consumer electronics and luxury fashion retailers and manufacturers. I then moved to very enriching corporate IT roles in the world-class luxury group Kering before taking on my current role at MediaWorld.
 

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

Continuously think about the customer perspective while building a collaborative working atmosphere with all internal and external stakeholders.
 

With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CIO going in the next 1-2 years?

I see the role actively supporting business strategy and stakeholders’ goals, making information and technologies secure, state-of-the-art and accessible in order to respond to the changing needs of the business, customers and market conditions.
 

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CIO?

Leverage your sense of responsibility for the team as well as for the business. Always look to essential business information while addressing technology related problems.

1. I’m one of the many middle aged Padel’s victims.
2. I’m the first to jump in and the last to leave the dancefloor during company dj-set events.
