Pierantonio Azzalini manages Group IT and Digital Innovation for Fincantieri Group. Fincantieri is one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and number one by diversification and innovation.
Pierantonio held CIO/regional roles across EMEA for large blue chip organisations mainly in Finance and Insurance industries, including CEO and Board of Directors roles. He is an expert in IT Management, Project Management, Organisation, Cloud, IT security, and has a deep knowledge of insurance and banking processes.

Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
I have always had a passion for technology and had the opportunity to become a CIO very early on. I have now held this role for more than 25 years.
What is one of your guiding leadership principles?
Think outside the box. Always be curious about what's next.
With disruption being a key theme of recent years, where do you see the CIO role going in the next 1-2 years?
I see the attitude focusing toward innovation.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out as a CIO?
Never cut corners.

I was born in the mountains, but I love swimming. I also love bikes and motorbikes.
