CIOs also realized opportunities to break down silos, streamline decision making and bring their priorities to the forefront.
This year, they are facing an increasingly overloaded workforce and recognizing the pace of work and constant change may be unsustainable. At the same time, CIOs and their teams have considerable influence on business growth and outcomes and do not want to lose the momentum for digital acceleration.
CIOs from the world’s leading organizations shared their most important 2021 priorities across the business, as well as within their own functional areas.
Data and analytics has been high on the list of priorities for CIOs in the past two Leadership Perspective Surveys (spring and fall of 2020), but this is the first time it has taken the number one spot. They also shared their specific goals for data initiatives and the challenges to achieving them.
The top priorities for CIOs — data & analytics and cybersecurity — are reflected in how they plan to spend their resources this year.
