As the digital landscape continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, the role of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) has never been more critical. This season, Evanta's CISO communities across the European and Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions are set to gather for seven Executive Summits to share insights, strategies, and best practices for navigating complex cybersecurity challenges.

From building purpose-driven cloud security strategies to enhancing operational efficiencies with new disruptive technologies, these Executive Summits will cover a range of pivotal topics designed to equip CISOs with the tools they need to drive business value and secure their organisations effectively. Each agenda is built by and for CISOs in Evanta’s communities, and we are excited to feature security leaders from some of the most influential organisations throughout the events.

As we get ready for our Executive Summit season to begin, here is a preview of six standout sessions you will not want to miss!

  1. Breaking the Mold — Building a Purpose-Driven Information Security Strategy at the UK & Ireland CISO Executive Summit

As the threat landscape quickly evolves, CISOs can no longer rely on traditional cybersecurity strategies. In this keynote presentation, Ashish Shrestha, Group CISO of Jaguar Land Rover, will address how security leaders can transform their approach to drive business value, enable “Cyber Trust” within their organisations, and develop strategies that align with the culture of their organisation.

  1. Enhancing Resilience — Effective Communication of Valuable Cybersecurity Risks at the Benelux CISO Executive Summit

With increased regulation and requirements for compliance, it is critical for CISOs to be able to improve the board's understanding of threat intelligence. In this breakout session, Phillip Larbey, Managing Principal & Head of Verizon's Threat Research Advisory Center EMEA will share insights on Verizon’s 2024 DBIR publication. In addition, Phillip will be joined by Martijn Nykerk, CISO at Randstad; Marcel van Leent, CISO ABN Amro Clearing at ABN AMRO; and Floor Van Eijk, CISO at Nationale-Nederlanden to discuss how security leaders can translate these insights into practice.

  1. Strategic Leadership and the CISO – Championing a Smart, Digital and Secure Future at the DACH CISO Executive Summit

In this session, Nikk Gilbert, CISO at RWE, will share his experiences driving business transformation through security at RWE. He will also address how CISOs can maintain control over the narrative of emerging technologies such as GenAI and forge partnerships across the business to enhance security awareness and drive positive change.

  1. Outpacing the Adversary — Securing AI Innovation Before It’s Too Late at the France CISO Executive Summit

Raphael Marichez, Chief Security Officer, South Europe for Palo Alto Networks will host a boardroom session with IT and security leaders on embracing AI technologies. Participants will discuss how to anticipate and counter new threats as well as the steps they can take to safeguard their organisations while fostering innovation.

  1. CIO and CISO Collaboration — Balancing Digital Innovation and Cyber Resilience at the Sydney CISO Executive Summit

In today’s business landscape, it is imperative for IT and security leaders to be in alignment. In this breakout session, TAL Life’s CIO, Hinesh Chauhan, and CISO, Venkat Balakrishnan, will take the stage to discuss their collaborative efforts to embed security into digital initiatives and balance innovation with risk management during digital transformation.

  1. Enhancing Operational Resilience with an Embedded Security Culture at the Melbourne CISO Executive Summit

In this breakout session, John Ellis, Global Head of Security Trust & Influence at QBE Insurance Group, will discuss the importance of embedding a security-first mindset across organisations to protect and enhance business value. He will address how CISOs can foster a culture of accountability, tailor training initiatives for different teams, and build cyber resiliency through employee behaviour change.

As we look forward to the upcoming Executive Summits, it's clear that the CISO role is evolving to meet the demands of an increasingly complex and dynamic cybersecurity landscape. Whether it's redefining security strategies to drive business value, enhancing board-level understanding of cyber risks, or embedding a security-first culture within organisations, the insights gained from these events will be invaluable.
