Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I started as a telecom and security engineer before I moved to management roles. Through exposure, I found my way to my current role.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

One of my guiding leadership principles comes from the Nelson MandeIa quote: "I never lose. I either win or learn." I think we can always get something positive from any situation.

What is the greatest challenge CISOs face today, and how are you addressing it?

A challenge CISOs are facing is communication. Cybersecurity embraces a very large scope and requires you to speak to many different people. A team with diverse profiles and skills is key to address all stakeholders.

What is the key to success for someone just starting out as a CISO?

The key to success is to listen to your peer's expectations in your company. This helps build your network.

How do you measure success as a leader?

I measure success by observing when people reach out to me and my team on their own. This means the person is seeing your added value.

Evanta Governing Body members share their insights and leadership perspectives to shape the agendas and topics that address the top priorities impacting business leaders today.
