Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I have always been a technologist at heart. Starting my career in the Engineering (process control) field, then subsequently developing innovative technology capabilities in the initial years, I have always gravitated towards architecture and cybersecurity.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

Consensus. This principle enables me to lead all by getting buy-ins from a 360 degree sphere of influence.

With disruption being a key theme of the past year, where do you see your role as a CISO going in the next 1-2 years?

Automation, AI/ML, etc. are table stakes. C-level leaders will have to adapt to business composability with nontraditional compute. This will create a challenge to balance things like quantum computing and green IT, where and how do we go about it?

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CISO?

Be futuristic, be curious and be emotional.
