Tahmeed Khan is the Director of Global information Security with Celestica, a Canadian multinational design, manufacturing, hardware platform and supply chain electronics manufacturing services company headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Tahmeed leads the operational aspects of cybersecurity while contributing to the overall security strategy.
Tahmeed specialized in security operations and has gained experience from working within different aspects of security operations such as incident response, vulnerability management, architecture design and deployment and security monitoring.

Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
It began with my passion for solving puzzles and building solutions. My career started as a front line SOC analyst working 24/7 shifts. As I found my stride as an analyst, I quickly started to take interest in different aspects of cybersecurity. Where there was a puzzle to be solved, I was there! I moved into working on managing platforms as an analyst.
I was able to take my skills and knowledge and transition into Incident Response and Vulnerability Management. As I gained a solid foundation on cybersecurity, I was able to transition into leadership roles.

Lead by example and empower your team.
With disruption being a key theme of recent years, where do you see the CISO role going in the next 1-2 years?
Disruption fosters resilience within an organization. It offers great opportunities to learn, grow, and expand. CISOs must understand the cyber risks of an organization as technologies evolve and adoption rates by business units increase.
The roles are moving towards adapting the new and working towards resiliency in cybersecurity, working with various stakeholders to understand their requirements and conveying the importance of cybersecurity.
Tell us three fun facts about yourself.
- I picked up snowboarding 2 years ago,and since then I have boarded down four mountains including two in the Rockies.
- I enjoy solving puzzles.
- I play sports when I can!
