Director, Threat Analysis & Response (CIRT)

Emerson

In 2017, the Emerson Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) began work on several initiatives designed to increase detection and response efficiency through the automated correlation and enrichment of alerts. The goal of these initiatives was to increase alert fidelity through the reduction of false positives and redundancies, allowing analysts to dedicate more time to conduct a deeper examination. The automation of several alert triage processes increased both the efficiency and effectiveness in response, freed up time to conduct deeper root cause analysis, reduced false positives, and decreased the mean time to mitigation.

Join this session to hear about Emerson’s journey in the realm of Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR), from concept to reality.  Participants will learn:

  • The common myths and misconceptions that arise with SOAR
  • Key use cases and primary business drivers behind Emerson’s SOAR
  • How Emerson is leveraging a combination of human and machine power to help define, prioritize and drive standardized incident response activities
