Ageism in the Workplace – Why Should We Care?
Jane Storm
Chief People Officer
Saga plc.
In 2022, DE&I remains a top HR priority across organisations, as CHROs continue to tackle lingering racist, sexist and ableist attitudes and behaviours in the workplace. While the importance of these initiatives should not be understated, the topic of ageism continually falls by the wayside in CHROs’ application of DE&I strategies. As this issue remains relatively undiscussed, persisting ageist attitudes continually permeate organisations, culminating in working environments which effectively marginalise older team members. As such, it is crucial for CHROs to bring the issue of ageism into the forefront of discourse.
Join this session to hear more on:
- How to effectively incorporate the topic of ageism into your DE&I strategy
- Balancing the issue of ageism with other pertinent initiatives
- Preventing marginalisation of team members and changing the cultural mindset around age
